| DESCRIPTION: The Air Force Institute of Technology's (AFIT) Software Professional Development Program, part of AFIT's School of Systems and Logistics, provides timely, state-of-the-art software engineering education to software managers and practitioners who support the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense. We offer a series of courses that cover topics such as software life-cycles, requirements elicitation, use-case scenarios, object-oriented software design, software testing, and UML. Courses begin with a distance-learning format, using satellite broadcasts, videotapes, and/or net meetings, and culminate with a three-week, in-residence practicum at Wright-Patterson AFB. | DESCRIPTION: AFMC Knowledge Now is an initiative of the Directorate of Requirements Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC/DR). Our program mission is to drive acquisition and logistics excellence by applying commercial knowledge management concepts and technologies to address U.S. Air Force business issues. One of its primary products is the AFMC Knowledge Now site located at https://afkm/wpafb.af.mil. This AFMC KM site provides centralized access to the AFMC Help Center and Deskbook, numerous communities of practice, the Virtual Schoolhouse, discussion groups, as well as success stories, lessons learned, and access to points of contact responsible for supporting the workforce. In support of its mission, the AFMC KM program actively markets the Knowledge Now site and seeks to coordinate with all Air Force communities to improve access to knowledge. |
