| Organizations that use or plan to use Earned Value Management (EVM) will find guidance for cost-effective process improvement and appraisal in the Software Technology Institute (SEI) technical note Using CMMI to Improve EVM. You will learn to prepare mapping and comparison tables between Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and the U.S. national standard for EVM (EVMS). The tables can be used to: ·Ensure processes conform with EVMS ·Develop instruments for cost-effective CMMI appraisals ·Identify practices within CMMI that exceed EVMS guidelines but will strengthen adherence to EVM principles. It also augments CMMI with information regarding Technical Performance Measurement and Performance-Based Earned Value. | |
