| Why are Systems of Systems (SOS) so much harder than they once were? The SOS is not new. But achieving them today seems harder than it used to be. Why is this so? Is it software? Are today’s SOS so much more complex than yesterday’s? Where is the problem? In the technical complexity or flexibility? Or in the way we are organized and are trying to work? Many SOS problems appear at interfaces. That should not come as a surprise, but there appears to be a lack of emphasis and control on interface requirements in many SOS development programs. This presentation will cover what would occur in a perfect world and what we can do in our non-perfect world to ensure a much higher probability of SOS development success. | |
