James D. Smith, II, is with the Integrating
Software-Intensive Systems (ISIS) initiative at
the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), where he works
in the areas of programmatic interoperability and
acquisition of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)-intensive software systems.
Prior to joining SEI, Smith spent 15 years developing, acquiring, testing, and fielding software-intensive systems, and held a variety of Joint and U.S. Navy system engineering and program management positions. He has Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level-III certification in both the Program Management and Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering career fields. Smith has an MS in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. |
