In today’s procurement environment, Maturity Level 3 is no longer
a discriminator. To gain a competitive edge, companies must pursue high
maturity – Levels 4 and 5. Yet, many companies stop at Level 3, unsure of
how to proceed. The concepts are difficult to understand, and little
guidance is available in the open literature.
This presentation is a detailed explanation of the two process areas in Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 4. Each specific practice will be discussed, and examples of how to satisfy them will be shown. The material will identify organizational responsibilities, project responsibilities, and the interfaces between them. Practical steps and advice for transitioning from Level 3 to 4 will be provided. The material will also show how the proper approach to Level 4 will shorten the transition to Level 5. |
