| This presentation is intended to describe the direction being taken to evolve the Department of Defense (DoD) Global Command and Control System (GCCS) from its current mix of a family of systems into a single, integrated services-oriented architecture. This new construct, called Joint Command and Control (JC2), is the net-centric and data-centric approach to address the challenges of command and control for the DoD and the communities of interest that interact with the DoD. The advantages of a net-centric approach and its positive implications are discussed. Two examples are illustrated, one for Force Projection and one for Air/Space Operations. Finally, an action list is presented to outline the implementation of this evolution. | |
