Systems and software technology are only as good as the people that develop and deploy them! The 2006 CompTIA Benchmark Study indicates that 59 percent of security breaches are due to human error. How can you make sure that the right people, with the right skills are performing the right functions? The Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program (IA WIP) serves as an effective model for establishing IA training and certification standards. George Bieber led development and implementation of the IA WIP, which now impacts more than 80K technical and management personnel and contractor positions across the DoD. This presentation will provide an overview of the program and how it has been established.
