Shankar, Dr. K.S. (Doc)

Dr. K.S. Shankar is a Distinguished Engineer at IBM with extensive experience in computer security. At IBM, he has held a variety of technical and management positions. Over the last 7 years, Dr. Shankar has lead IBM's Security & Assurance Initiatives regarding the Linux Operating System. His current focus is on ways to improve security in Linux-based systems and deploy them especially for the federal sector. He has served as Adjunct Professor of Computer Science with University of Maryland, College Park, Rice University and University of Houston. When he is not in the office, he can be found convincing customers (or anyone) that Linux is secure!

Dr. Shankar has a PhD in Computer Sciences from University of California, Berkeley.
