More and more software developers are choosing to earn the CSDP to demonstrate this knowledge and advance in their careers. And, employers are recognizing the value in standardizing their software development practices through certifications like the CSDP.
"The Boeing Software Functional Office recognizes the
CSDAP certification as a way to ensure a sound software
engineering foundation, resulting in a more efficient and
competitive workforce providing higher quality software."
-Pierce Gibbs, Primary Software Architect, Boeing IDS
The two day CSDP preparation course will be taught by an IEEE CS certified instructor and covers the 11 primary knowledge areas (KAs) of the SWEBOK Guide. After this course, and in preparation for the CSDP examination, students will also have one month of access to the online CSDP Preparation Course. The online course includes the three foundational KAs that will not be covered in the SSTC course. Together, both of these courses will help a student identify their strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the CSDP exam. Students will also receive a discount coupon that can be applied towards the fees for the CSDP exam, which has 180 questions, takes approximately 3 hours to complete, and can be scheduled through any Pearson Vue test center world-wide.
The CSDP is the only professional software engineering certification that covers three critical components:
- Demonstrating mastery of a Body of Knowledge (BOK)
- Employer’s confirmation of an employee’s proficiency of software engineering principles
- Continuing professional education measured and relevant to the BOK.
Register early to reserve your seat using the SSTC registration form. Limited onsite registration is available. A completed IEEE Computer Society CSDP registration form with all supporting materials is required for onsite registration. Please contact csdp@computer.org with any questions.
We look forward to a successful course as part of SSTC.
