Lakeland Chamber Hires New Employees
The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce hired several new employees to serve Lakeland businesses. Kristen Spiker Brenneman joined the chamber as director of the Lakeland Convention & Visitor Bureau. A Central Florida native, Spiker-Brenneman is originally from Plant City and moved to Lakeland in 2012. She came to the chamber after three years at Florida Polytechnic University, where she supported fundraising operations, events and database administration. Jon Miller joins the chamber as director of public affairs. He is an award-winning marketing strategist who serves advocacy and branding clients nationwide using data analytics. Takiyah Dixon joined the chamber as Director of Enterprise Resources. Using her educational background, Dixon will work to create educational programs and workshops for local business owners and cultivate the talent pool in Lakeland. Faith Carr joined the chamber as a business relations specialist. She is originally from Arkansas, where she attended Arkansas State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Carr moved to Lakeland to be closer to her family. Lybia Taylor is the chamber’s new information specialist. Taylor works closely with the Lakeland Convention and Visitors Bureau to accommodate guests visiting Lakeland. She has a degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
Florida Bar to Honor 605 50-Year-Old Members at Luncheon
The Florida Bar will honor 605 attorneys and senior counsel for 50 years of dedication to the practice of law during a luncheon at the Florida Bar’s Annual Convention at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando. The lunch, coordinated by the Senior Advocates Committee, will take place at 12:30 p.m. on June 24. Marjorie Gadarian Graham, a 50-year-old laureate, will be the guest speaker.
