Agents have been able to find a buyer two weeks faster for their sellers so far this year compared to 2021, according to new analytics.

Research by agency comparison website GetAgent found that companies are getting accepted offers within an average of 84.7 days from signup date so far this year.

That’s 14.7 days faster than in 2021 when it took an average of 99.4 days.

In terms of best agent performance, agents in the LA21 Lake District postcode are taking an average of 22 days to find a buyer so far in 2022, the fastest in England and Wales.

Birmingham’s B4 postcode takes an average of 33.4 days to find a buyer, with Greater Manchester’s M31 postcode ranking third with an average of 37.1 days.

However, when it comes to the biggest reduction in the time it takes to find a buyer in 2022, postcode LL35 at the tip of Snowdonia National Park comes out on top.

In 2021, it took agents in postcode LL35 an average of 306.8 days to find a buyer. So far in 2022, that number has fallen to 95.3 days, a reduction of 211.5 days.

Mal McCallion, Chief Operating Officer of GetAgent, said: “Hats off to the estate agents nationwide, who have not only worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic real estate market boom, but in the vast majority of postcodes they have managed to find a buyer at a faster pace in 2022 compared to last year.

“It will be interesting to see exactly where we land at the end of the year, as the landscape has certainly become more tricky over the past few weeks. Last week’s interest rate hike will no doubt slow the pace of homebuyers nationwide, allowing the best real estate agents to really show their quality.

“While we may see demand levels cool somewhat, there should remain adequate homebuyer interest in agents who can perform at the top of local markets. Those who work the hardest will continue to attract the nation’s targeted buyers and sellers.
